Vau&Co. Conducts Scoping Workshop and Environmental Data Collection in Ejiba Community

As part of its commitment to environmental sustainability and regulatory compliance, Vau & Co., in collaboration with the Federal Ministry of Environment and the Ejiba Community Council, conducted a scoping workshop on May 15, 2025. This workshop is a critical component of the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) process for the proposed lithium processing factory in Ejiba.

During the workshop, officials from the Federal Ministry of Environment emphasized the importance of adhering to environmental regulations and ensuring that the local community benefits from the company’s activities. Representatives from Vau & Co. provided insights into the project’s objectives, environmental considerations, and potential socio-economic impacts.

Following the workshop, from May 13 to 16, 2025, environmental consultants from Layun International Consult Ltd., in partnership with the Federal and State Ministries of Environment, conducted a comprehensive environmental data collection exercise. This initiative aimed to gather baseline data essential for the EIA report.

Sampling Overview:
-Water Samples: Collected from boreholes and nearby rivers to assess pH levels, turbidity, electrical conductivity, salinity, total dissolved solids, dissolved oxygen, and temperature.
-Soil Samples: Taken from eight strategic locations around the proposed site to analyze nutrient levels and potential contaminants.
-Air Quality Monitoring: Conducted at twelve locations to measure particulate matter, gas concentrations, weather parameters, and noise levels.
The preliminary findings from these samples will undergo further laboratory analysis to inform the EIA report and guide mitigation strategies.

Vau & Co. remains dedicated to engaging with stakeholders and upholding environmental standards as it progresses with the lithium processing project in Ejiba.
